Calm: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, and Worry

Please note that I am unable to accept new patients at this time.

I specialize in mindfulness-centered cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults dealing with anxiety, depression and related conditions, including:

  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • trauma related difficulties like posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • panic disorder
  • social anxiety
  • generalized anxiety
  • sleep problems (trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, insomnia)
  • depression

If you are interested in treatment options, please contact me. Self referrals are welcome as are referrals from other professionals.

Treatment Approach

In our work together you can expect personally tailored treatment that is grounded in research. A mindfulness-centered approach can help you to experience life more fully, to let go of things you can’t control, and to have compassion for yourself and others. Cognitive and behavioral techniques help you to align your thoughts and your actions with your goals, and to reduce the symptoms that are bothering you.

Video Conference Treatment

In many cases I can provide treatment by video conference. This approach can be a good option for individuals who don’t live close to a therapist who provides the specialized treatment that the person needs, and for whom it’s not practical to travel to the Main Line area for face-to-face sessions. For legal reasons this type of therapy is available only for certain states; please contact me if you’re interested in this option.

Home Visits

I can provide treatment in a person’s home when necessary. For example, treatment for OCD may require exposure sessions with things in the home such as the stove or the laundry. Other examples of when home visits may be scheduled include when clinical symptoms prevent office visits or when a person has scheduling constraints. Additional fees will apply to cover the time and travel involved.

Payment & Insurance

Payment is due at the time of each appointment. I can accept payment by cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard).

I am not an in-network provider for any insurance plan or for Medicare/Medicaid; I will work with patients and their insurance companies as an out-of-network provider. Insurance plans may reimburse a percentage of the session fees depending on the plan’s out-of-network mental health benefits. If you plan to use insurance to cover the cost of treatment, be sure you have met any prior authorization or referral requirements. I provide invoices that include the information insurance companies generally require for reimbursement.

Family Members

I provide consultation to family members whose loved ones are struggling with the conditions I treat. It can be helpful to talk with a professional when:

  • You have questions about your loved one’s diagnosis
  • You want to know how best to be supportive
  • You have questions about what treatments are most effective
  • You need support as you deal with your loved one’s condition

Please contact me by phone or email to discuss arrangements and fees.

Speaking Engagements

I have delivered talks and presentations nationally and internationally on mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD. Please contact me by email to inquire about arrangements.
